At NOLORAMATA, we are committed to working hand in hand with pastoral communities in Northern Tanzania to sustainably manage rangelands and protect vital water sources.

Our projects focus on restoring grazing lands, conserving natural water catchments and ensuring reliable access to clean water for people and livestock.

In the villages of Oloirien, Magaiduru, Mundoros and Oloipiri, elders and community members have embraced these initiatives, recognizing their transformative impact. Ole Naronyo, a respected elder, shared:

“The work NOLORAMATA is doing is very good for our lives as pastoralists. We have heard that in neighboring villages like Oloirien and Magaiduru, people now have access to clean water. This is wonderful because it reduces the hardship of fetching water, especially for women and girls. We thank NOLORAMATA and hope these efforts continue in other areas as well.”

Nalang’u Soombe Mama, a community member from Oloirien, also expressed her appreciation:

“The Sariani Water Source Protection Project is very important for our lives. We will make every effort to take care of it together with our friends at NOLORAMATA.”

Through community engagement, traditional knowledge and sustainable practices, NOLORAMATA is helping to build resilient livelihoods, protect ecosystems and ensure a sustainable future for pastoral communities.
